Rollover To Zoom
Starward Solera is a Melbourne single malt whisky matured exclusively in Australian Apera (fortified wine) casks using the traditional Spanish solera method, where young whisky is perpetually blended with mature stock. Gold-medalled at the World Whiskies Awards multiple years running.
Mood: raisin, caramel, sunshine.
The whisky that made the world take Australian single malt seriously. Rich, fruit-driven, and unmistakably sherried without ever tasting like a Scottish cask.
Tasting Notes
Ripe orchard fruit, raisin, toffee, and vanilla lift from the nose. The palate is soft and rounded, with caramel chews, creme brulee, fig, and nougat carried by the Apera cask influence. The finish is long and juicy, raisin sweetness and a touch of oak spice lingering.
Food Pairing
A dessert-course whisky. Excellent alongside sticky date pudding, dark chocolate, aged hard cheeses, or a fruit-forward cigar. Neat in a Glencairn, or over one large rock.
