Rollover To Zoom
Argaman is the original Israeli grape — bred in 1972 at the Volcani Institute as a Carignan × Sóusão cross to give Israeli reds their signature inky color. Barkan's Classic tier pairs it with Merlot for body and softer tannin, then bottles it mevushal at an everyday price.
Mood: Inky, juicy, casual.
Sommelier’s note
“The Israeli house red. Pour it cold, pour it warm, pour it for everyone at the Shabbos table.”
Tasting notes
Crushed blackberry, ripe plum, and a hint of black pepper. Soft, fruit-forward, medium-bodied; jammy red and black fruit with a touch of cocoa. Smooth, gently warming, easy.
Pairing
Shabbos brisket, schnitzel, kebab, shawarma, hummus mezze, or just a Tuesday-night pizza.
