Cape Jewel is matured, produced and bottled in the Cape Winelands, as the label states, and the estate house on the front is classic Cape Dutch. The Reserve Collection Merlot is soft and ripe in the South African style.

South African Merlot tends to carry a little more savoury edge than California. Serve it slightly cool.
Tasting notes
Plum, black cherry and a light smoky note. Round and ripe across the palate with soft tannin. A smooth, fruity finish.
