Photo for reference. Vintage may differ from the bottle shipped.
Arak with cinnamon and honey worked into it — amber rather than clear, and sweeter and rounder than a straight aniseed arak. The label carries a hamsa and the bottle says keep refrigerated, which is not a suggestion.
Mood: Warm, spiced, golden.
Our sommelier says
Keep it in the fridge, as the bottle asks. Serve it cold and neat; the honey turns cloying at room temperature.
Tasting notes
Cinnamon, honey and sweet aniseed. Rounded and sweet across the palate with the anise underneath the spice. A long, warming, cinnamon finish.
Food pairing
Cold and neat after a meal, or over ice. Good beside baklava, honey cake and strong coffee.
