Rollover To Zoom
Psagot Pompeo is a flagship Bordeaux-style red from the Psagot Winery, on the mountain ridge of Psagot in the hills north of Jerusalem. A single-varietal or premium blend from the Berg family's estate cave, named in honor and made in a full-bodied kosher tradition.
Mood: Flagship, powerful, cellar.
Sommelier's note
"A Psagot flagship red. Blackberry, blackcurrant, cedar, and a hint of Judean stone. Elegantly structured and long-aging. The bottle for an important Shabbos or gift."
Tasting notes
Deep ruby with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, cedar, and dried herb. The palate is full-bodied and dry, with ripe black fruit, mocha, cocoa, and elegant firm tannin. The finish is long, structured, and cellar-worthy.
Food pairing
Prime rib, dry-aged steak, rack of lamb, wagyu brisket, aged hard cheeses. A serious cellar red for yom tov or an important simcha.
