Rollover To Zoom
Segal Special Reserve Merlot comes from Upper Galilee vineyards harvested at peak ripeness, then aged 12 months in a blend of French and American oak. Segal, founded in 1925 and now under the Barkan Group umbrella, runs its winemaking on separate installations to preserve its own tradition.
Mood: Balanced, warm, dependable.
Tasting Notes
The nose is ripe and peppery, with plum, dark cherry, and cedar spice. The palate is rich and rounded, balanced by soft tannins and a savory herbal edge from the mixed oak regime. The finish is warm and lingering, closing on cocoa and toasted oak.
Food Pairing
A natural partner for Shabbos brisket, grilled chicken, roasted lamb, or a well-spiced cholent. Also handles kugel and a kiddush salami spread.
