Photo for reference. Vintage may differ from the bottle shipped.
Petit Verdot is normally a blending grape — a few percent added to a Bordeaux blend for colour and grip. Bottled on its own it is dark, firm and unusual, and Teperberg's Legacy version comes in its own presentation box.
Mood: Inky, firm, unusual.
Our sommelier says
Decant it. Varietal Petit Verdot is tight when it opens and rewards an hour of air more than most.
Tasting notes
Blackberry, violet and dark chocolate. Dense and structured across the palate with firm tannin and deep colour. A long, dark, spiced finish.
Food pairing
Aged beef, lamb shoulder and rich braises. A gift bottle as much as a drinking one.
