Petite Sirah does very well in Israel — thick skins, deep colour, and enough tannin to stand up to anything off a grill. This is Teperberg's Legacy bottling, from the family archive label series.
Mood: Dark, chewy, powerful.
Our sommelier says
Pour it with fat and protein. Petite Sirah's tannin needs something to push against or it reads harsh.
Tasting notes
Blueberry, black pepper and dark chocolate. Dense and grippy across the palate with concentrated dark fruit. A long, peppery, dark-fruited finish.
Food pairing
Grilled steak, lamb kebab and barbecue. Very good with anything cooked over coals.
