Rollover To Zoom
From the south-facing slopes of Altenberg de Bergheim — one of Alsace's most storied Grand Cru sites — comes Gustave Lorentz's flagship Gewurztraminer. A century-old estate, a single-vineyard wine, and an aromatic profile that perfumes a room.
Mood: Lychee, rose, opulent.
“This is Gewurztraminer at full volume — perfumed, plush, deeply textured. The kosher Alsace Grand Cru worth saving for company.”
Tasting Notes
The nose explodes with lychee, rose petal, candied ginger, and tropical fruit. On the palate, hot spices, lychee, and tropical fruit are framed by Grand Cru minerality, with 28 g/l residual sugar tempered by the site's structure. The finish is long, floral, and warmly spiced — opulent without weight.
Food Pairing
A natural with foie-style chopped liver, schnitzel with apricot, and Moroccan-spiced fish. Pour with strong cheeses, fruit desserts, or anything off the Yom Tov table that benefits from a sweet-savory counterpoint.
